Employability Tutor

Location: Bromsgrove

Salary: £26,000 per annum pro-rata

Contract Type: Ongoing Sessional

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am 2:30pm

We are seeking an enthusiastic, engaging and learner-focused Employability Tutor to deliver high-quality employability and digital skills training to adult learners in Bromsgrove.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced trainer who is passionate about helping people overcome barriers, build confidence and develop the practical skills they need to progress towards sustainable employment.

The role will involve a combination of interactive group workshops and one-to-one support, covering key areas such as job searching, CV development, interview preparation and digital skills. As an ongoing sessional position
, there is potential for continued work for successful tutors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, inclusive and practical non-accredited employability and digital skills training.
  • Facilitate group workshops designed to develop learners confidence, employability skills and readiness for work.
  • Provide one-to-one coaching and tailored support based on individual learner needs.
  • Support learners with CV writing, cover letters, job applications and interview preparation.
  • Provide practical digital skills support, including setting up email accounts, using attachments, navigating online platforms and accessing job-search websites.
  • Help learners develop confidence using digital tools and online recruitment platforms.
  • Support learners to identify suitable employment opportunities and encourage them to take proactive steps towards securing work.

    Set realistic and achievable goals with learners and monitor progress throughout their journey.
  • Motivate and encourage learners from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes confidence, independence and progression.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and ensure all required documentation is completed in line with organisational and contractual requirements.
  • Use the organisation s learner management system/database to record progress, activity and outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure learners receive appropriate support and guidance.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Previous experience delivering employability, adult learning, employability skills or vocational training
    .
  • Strong IT and digital skills, with the ability to confidently support learners with basic digital tasks.
  • Experience supporting individuals with CV development, job applications, job searching and interview preparation.
  • Experience delivering engaging group-based learning sessions.

    Confidence providing one-to-one coaching and personalised learner support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage, motivate and build positive relationships with learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to monitor learner progress and maintain accurate records.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching and learner support.
  • A genuine passion for helping individuals develop their skills and move towards sustainable employment.
