The Role

My client is seeking an experienced Revit Technician to join a growing building services engineering team. This role will focus on producing high-quality AutoCAD 2D drawings and Revit 3D models to support mechanical and HVAC projects from concept through to completion.

You will work closely with design, project, and delivery teams, providing technical drawing support while ensuring industry standards, quality, and health & safety considerations are met at all stages.

Key Responsibilities for the Revit Technician
  • Produce high-quality AutoCAD 2D drawings and Revit 3D models, including:
    • Building layouts
    • General Arrangement (GA) drawings
    • Fabrication drawings
    • P&
  • Interpret system designs, site sketches, and technical data to create or amend project drawings
  • Input technical data from system datasheets into drawings and schematics
  • Attend site when required to assist with surveys and generation of survey drawings
  • Liaise with suppliers and project stakeholders regarding drawing and model queries
  • Maintain drawing registers and manage incoming/outgoing drawings
  • Assist with conceptual design work alongside sales and design teams
  • Apply value engineering principles at the drafting and modelling stage
  • Identify and document residual design risks within drawings where applicable
Essential Skills & Experience for the Revit Technician
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working independently on multiple projects
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • AutoCAD 2D
    • Revit (3D Modelling / BIM)
  • Competent in conducting detailed site surveys for HVAC and mechanical systems
  • Good understanding of HVAC systems, including:
    • Ductwork (Galvanised, Stainless Steel, uPVC)
    • Pipework and fittings
    • Air conditioning, split systems, and VRF
  • Knowledge of ductwork standards such as DW144, DW143, DW154, DW172
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage workload effectively
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
  • City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 in Computer Aided Design
  • BTEC or HNC in Building Services Engineering
  • Experience with:
    • CAD MEP Fabrication
    • Navisworks
    • Design experience taking concepts through to final deliverables
