Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a high-impact leadership position for a commercially minded finance professional who thrives on driving performance, developing people, and delivering meaningful business insight.
If you're as comfortable rolling up your sleeves as well as playing a key part in the development of the function this could be the perfect next step in your career.### The Opportunity As Financial Controller, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day management of a sizeable finance function, leading teams across Accounts, Payroll and Credit Control. You'll oversee the delivery of accurate financial reporting while helping to transform finance from a traditional reporting function into a proactive, commercially focused business partner.
This is more than a financial control role. It's an opportunity to influence business performance, drive operational improvements and lead a team of over 20 finance professionals through the next stage of growth.### What You'll Be Doing
* Leading and developing a high-performing finance team
* Owning the monthly management accounts and reporting cycle
* Delivering meaningful commercial insights to senior leadership
* Driving budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
* Building strong relationships across operational and commercial teams
* Identifying opportunities to improve profitability and performance
* Leading finance systems, process improvement and automation initiatives
* Maintaining robust financial controls and governance standards
* Supporting strategic finance projects and future transformation plans### What We're Looking For You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a proven track record in finance leadership and business partnering.
You'll bring:
Experience leading and developing sizeable finance teams
Strong management accounting and financial reporting expertise
The ability to translate financial data into commercial insight
Excellent systems knowledge and process improvement experience
Advanced Excel and analytical capabilitiesA proactive, commercially focused mindset
Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
Confidence to challenge, influence and support operational leaders
Bonus Points For
Experience with in:
Recruitment, staffing or temporary labour sectors
High-volume payroll, billing and credit control environments
Finance transformation and systems implementation projects
Multi-site and/or multi-company organisations
Experience of implementing AI solutions into systems or processes
