  • Be responsible for admitting and discharging patients from the caseload.

  • Ensure clinical practice is patient‑focussed and evidence‑based, in accordance with NMC code and scope for professional practice.
  • Assess mental capacity and have the ability to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
  • Actively contribute to the task of monitoring and evaluating standards of patient care, seeking to continuously improve the quality of care.
  • Ensure care provided maintains the individual's privacy and dignity, values diversity and respects cultural and individual rights and choices.
  • Delegate appropriately to more junior staff.
