General Operative, Manufacturing ​/ Production

As an Operative you will be expected to operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently to maximise production. To inspect, carry out and ensure that plant routines are regularly adhered to and that the cleanliness of the equipment's, production area, adjacent buildings and storage areas are at all times properly and regularly inspected, cleaned and maintained in accordance with site instructions.

You will operate as a member of a multi-skilled production team producing concrete products. The role is primarily day shift from 6 AM till 3 PM or 7 AM till 4 PM but the factory operates on a 24/5 rotating three shift pattern with possible overtime as and when required.

• Operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect, clean and maintain equipment, production area, adjacent buildings and storage areas.
• Work as part of a multi-skilled production team producing concrete products.
• Follow plant routines and site instructions.
• Handle shift scheduling (6 AM – 3 PM or 7 AM – 4 PM) and rotating three-shift pattern, with potential overtime.

• Highly motivated General Operative with drive and enthusiasm, able to work as part of a shift team.
• Good aptitude to learn how to operate the production press, outfeed system and FLTs.
• Operating forklift and counterbalance trucks experience.
• Experience managing stock on the yard.
• IT literacy; dispatching using E1 software.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Good organisational skills and able to work on own initiative.
• Physically fit and capable of manual labour, including lifting and carrying 20 kg for short distances.
