Panel Wireman

The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Panel Wirer to join a growing engineering and production team. This is a hands-on role focused on the assembly, wiring, testing, and fault-finding of electrical control panels for a range of industrial projects.

You will work closely with engineers and the wider production team to ensure panels are built to specification, meet quality standards, and are delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities for Panel wireman

* Assemble and wire electrical control panels to detailed specifications.

* Read and interpret electrical schematics, General Arrangements (GA’s), and wiring diagrams.

* Cut, strip, crimp, number, and terminate cables to a high professional standard.

* Test and fault-find control panels to ensure reliability, functionality, and safety.

* Collaborate with engineers and production teams on both new builds and modifications.

* Manage stock control, logging parts, and recording deliveries.

* Provide occasional on-site support for installation and commissioning activities.

* Safely use hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment as part of assembly operations.

About You

* Proven experience working as a Panel Wirer or similar role.

* Confident reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.

* Strong understanding of electrical wiring practices and safety standards.

* Competent using hand and power tools.

* Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.

Desirable (Not Essential)

* City & Guilds BS7671 (Wiring Regulations).

* City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing).

* Experience with PLC wiring and control systems.

* Knowledge of WIMES (Water Industry Mechanical and Electrical Specifications)
