Accounting Analyst

Description We are looking for an Accounting Analyst to support core financial operations for a long-term contract opportunity based in Bronx, New York. This role is suited to someone who can manage daily accounting activity with accuracy while partnering with internal stakeholders to keep billing, receivables, and payables on track. The ideal candidate brings a strong grasp of reconciliations and transactional accounting, along with the ability to maintain organized records and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

Responsibilities:

- Process invoices, payment requests, and related accounts payable activity while ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and on time.

- Monitor incoming payments and support accounts receivable follow-up to help maintain current and well-documented customer balances.

- Prepare and review billing transactions, confirming charges are complete, properly supported, and aligned with established procedures.

- Reconcile account balances and investigate variances by researching supporting records and coordinating with relevant teams.

- Maintain accounting documentation and transaction data in an organized manner to support reporting, audits, and routine financial review.

- Assist with day-to-day accounting operations by updating records, verifying entries, and helping ensure the integrity of financial information.

- Communicate with internal departments and external contacts to resolve invoice, payment, and account-related issues in a timely manner. Requirements - Experience handling accounts payable, including invoice review, payment processing, and record maintenance.

- Experience supporting accounts receivable functions and tracking outstanding balances.

- Working knowledge of billing processes and the ability to review financial charges for accuracy.

- Demonstrated experience performing account reconciliations and identifying discrepancies.

- General accounting knowledge with the ability to manage routine financial transactions carefully and accurately.

- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
