Contract Duration: Approximately 2 Months
Start: As Soon As Possible
Pay Rate: $17–21/hr

Schedule / Hours: 1st Shift - Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Flexibility Required: Weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed

Role Summary

The Phlebotomist / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is the front-facing representative for patients receiving diagnostic services. This role is responsible for performing high-quality blood collection and specimen processing while ensuring patient comfort, confidentiality, and accuracy.

The PSR I demonstrates professionalism and leadership behaviors while working independently in a fast-paced clinical environment. This position plays a key role in creating a trusting and positive patient experience while maintaining strict adherence to established procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform clinical and forensic blood specimen collection and processing

• Draw blood safely and accurately, including pediatric and geriatric collections

• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established protocols

• Maintain accurate records and required documentation

• Ensure a safe, professional, and patient-centered environment

• Explain procedures clearly to patients to promote confidence and trust

• Work independently with minimal on-site supervision

• Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public

Skills & Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections

• Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Keyboarding and data entry proficiency

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Preferred Skills:

• Medical assistant or paramedic training

• One or more years of phlebotomy experience

• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment

Education & Experience

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

• Certification:

  • NY State Phlebotomy Certificate required

  • Phlebotomy certification also required in CA, NV, and WA

• Experience:

  • Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required

  • 1+ year of experience preferred
