The Elite Stylist is responsible for engaging with guests, consulting on hair care needs, and recommending products and services. The Elite Stylist delivers quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest’s total look. They support the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) and focus on performance (service sales and productivity), people (guest service), and process (operating procedures and compliance standards).

This position requires a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge.

Essential functions include:

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed a weekly sales goal of $1,900 in hair services and productivity goals by delivering exceptional guest service and contributing to store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink as set by Ulta Beauty.
• Demonstrate products with guests to drive sales and enhance the guest service experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives that deliver an unrivaled guest experience.
• Stay informed on new and existing industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests, and be knowledgeable about ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail and service recommendations.
• Serve all guests, including walk-ins, in a timely and efficient manner.
• Partner with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a total-store guest experience.
• Establish professional peer and brand partner relationships to collaboratively deliver exceptional guest service.
• Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests in the salon and on the sales floor.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.

• Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures and comply with state board guidelines.
• Follow established service protocols to ensure a consistent and exceptional guest experience.
• Utilize booking and clientele systems to book guests for return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager to ensure guest readiness.
• Maintain outstanding store operational standards, including cleanliness of the salon, sales floor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and other areas.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code and protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices.
• Perform other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license

• Previous relevant work experience is required

• Proficiency with latest salon techniques for hair and makeup services and/or aptitude to develop skills across service categories;
• Proficiency with equipment and chemicals used in technical work;
• Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional hair care and makeup products;
• Strong communication skills;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.
