Stylist

Overview

We are the future of beauty services. The Stylist is responsible for engaging with guests, consulting on hair care needs, and recommending products and services to deliver a total-look experience. This role supports the Experience Manager (EM) and the Assistant Services Manager (ASM) with a focus on performance, guest service, and operating procedures and compliance standards.

• Perform hair services including design, haircuts, color, texture, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed sales and productivity goals for hair services and contribute to store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink as set by Ulta Beauty.
• Demonstrate business acumen with understanding of business drivers and opportunities for growth.
• Perform product demonstrations with guests to drive sales and enhance the guest service experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to deliver an unrivaled guest experience.
• Stay informed on new and existing trends, products, and services; communicate ingredients and benefits to guests.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail/service recommendations.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and salon image standards.
• Serve all guests, including walk-ins, in a timely and efficient manner.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a total-store guest experience.
• Establish professional relationships with peers and brand partners to deliver exceptional guest service.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and Ulta Beauty app usage.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.

• Follow Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Comply with safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures; align with state board guidelines.
• Adhere to service protocols to ensure a consistent, exceptional guest experience.
• Utilize booking and clientele systems to schedule return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the EM to ensure guest readiness.
• Maintain store operational standards, including cleanliness of salon, sales floor, restrooms, backroom, and break area.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code and protect company assets through loss prevention practices.
• Perform other operational tasks as directed.

  Cosmetology license
• Experience
  :
  Previous relevant salon experience is preferred
• Skills
  :
  Proficiency in latest salon techniques for haircutting, coloring, styling, treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable); ability to use equipment and chemicals safely; ability to demonstrate and sell professional hair care and makeup products; strong communication; ability to work independently and in a team; ability to build and maintain client relationships.

The pay range for this position is the higher of $10.70 - $16.30 per hour or services pay for the workweek under Ulta Beauty’s Services Compensation Plan. Exact pay depends on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, location, and business needs. Eligible associates may earn overtime and tips. Full-time positions are eligible for health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits;
