Overview
Join a growing electrical engineering firm creating designs for renewable energy systems, battery storage, data centers, and grid modernization projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a CAD professional to develop expertise in electrical power systems while working on impactful infrastructure projects.
What You'll Do- Working under the guidance of experienced engineers and senior designers, you'll transform concepts into detailed electrical designs
- Create Electrical Drawings - Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and design details using AutoCAD
- Site Documentation - Conduct field surveys at project sites to capture existing conditions and verify designs
- Technical Coordination - Collaborate with engineers to ensure drawings meet specifications and standards
- Quality Deliverables - Produce professional design documents for review and approval by licensed engineers
- You'll gain hands-on experience with diverse electrical systems including substations, renewable energy interconnections, battery storage facilities, and medium/high voltage infrastructure.
- Proficient in AutoCAD (demonstrated experience required)
- Ability to interpret and analyze technical data
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills for team collaboration
- Valid driver s license and U.S. work authorization
- Associate degree in drafting, design, or related field
- Familiarity with electrical design and drafting standards
- Experience with BIM modeling and Revit
- Previous electrical or power systems drafting experience
- Understanding of electrical schematics and symbols

Connecticut office - Travel:
Occasional site visits (1-2 days per month); minimal overnight stays - Compensation: $25-$35/hour CAD experience + electrical exposure, (entry level, no electrical exposure $18-22/hr) plus comprehensive benefits
