SummaryAssociate Bankers promote and sell North Shore Bank products and services, build account relationships, and perform Teller duties. Approximately 50% of activities are devoted to sales and sales support. Associate Bankers may support multiple branch locations.
Responsibilities Sales- Open new accounts, maintain deposit accounts, and respond to customers promptly and courteously.
- Balance required forms accurately and ensure customers understand terms and receive proper disclosures.
- Blend Teller referrals and production as required to achieve branch goals.
- Provide basic information on consumer loan products and refer potential customers to an appropriate individual.
- Recognize additional customer opportunities and provide qualified referrals to all branch business partners.
- Use internal prospect lists to make outbound calls and participate in call initiatives.
- Provide quality, personalized service to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Follow up with clients by telephone, written correspondence, or personal contact.
- Strategize with Branch Manager and Personal Banker for achievement of production goals.
- Follow North Shore Bank sales processes.
- Perform Teller duties and New Accounts area as required for branch and customer demands.
- Complete required customer files, documentation, and paperwork, providing documentation support to the personal banking area.
- Research and follow up on incomplete or missing documentation.
- Assist customers in statement balancing and research.
- Prepare documents for re‑titling of accounts.
- Provide any other sales support as required.
- Actively participate in sales, product knowledge, and service meetings.
- Run transactions efficiently and accurately, monitoring own work for quality and quantity.
- May open or close branch as required.
- Follow standard operating procedures and security procedures.
- Answer questions from prospects or customers and direct them to proper employees for more complex problems and inquiries.
- Handle complex and non‑routine inquiries by Tellers and customers concerning bank policy and operating procedures; research and solve customer problems, referring more difficult situations to the manager.
- Display good business judgment when waiving fees or negotiating deposit rates within established bank guidelines.
- Consistently perform North Shore Bank customer service standards with both external and internal customers.
High school education or equivalent and one year related sales and service experience required. Must have an interest in sales and exceptional customer service skills. Must have good working knowledge of personal deposit products and services and basic knowledge of consumer loan products. Requires basic financial acumen and proficiency with various computer systems and similar technology.
Compliance RequirementsMay be required to register and maintain loan originator license through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry. Submit fingerprints, update registry, and complete annual training required of licensed individuals.
Physical DemandsThe employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Area Associate Bankers require the ability to drive to any North Shore Bank branch location.
