The Director of Physician Practice Operations is assigned several Children’s Physician Practices. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, delegating, coordinating, and controlling the operations of all assigned practices. The Physician Practice Operations Director works collaboratively with practice physicians to ensure the efficient and effective daily operation of the practice, including but not limited to the supervision and evaluation of the practice staff, all practice operations, budget management with financial oversight and review, and business process analysis and redesign when warranted.

• Minimum 5 years management experience within a physician practice operation.

• MBA or MHA.

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health administration, or related discipline.

• No professional certifications required.

• Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with physicians.
• Strong command of financial analysis, strategic planning, physician practice operations, and healthcare information systems.

• Supervise and advise the managers at assigned practices and support them in managing the practice, including analyzing access and patient throughput; improving customer satisfaction; conducting productivity analysis and efficiency studies; and managing human resources and development.
• Ensure the financial viability of the assigned Children’s Physician Practice practices, monitoring progress against budget, and planning and implementing capital expenditures.
• Follow progress of the business office, whether central or local.
• Plan and maintain the operating budget on a practice‑by‑practice level.
• Understand and monitor physician progress on the compensation plan.
• Serve as partner to physicians in assigned practices and liaison between physicians and Children’s Administration.
• Ensure providers at assigned practices understand their obligations as specified by their agreements with Children’s, in compliance with Children’s policies and procedures, and in support of Children’s goals.
• Support clinical and office staff in upholding clinical quality in practice.
• Facilitate monthly provider meetings within assigned practices.
• Act as a resource for special task forces throughout Children’s as needed.
