Overview
Municipal Stormwater Projects Engineer / Manager
Location: Brookhaven, GA
Lowe Engineers is seeking a qualified and motivated Municipal Stormwater Projects Engineer / Manager to join our team in Brookhaven, GA. This position offers the opportunity to work on public sector stormwater and infrastructure projects while contributing to a collaborative, client-focused team.
Responsibilities- Perform professional civil engineering work related to the design, construction, and maintenance of stormwater and public works infrastructure.
- Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, technical specifications, regulatory codes, and agreements.
- Prepare scopes of work, technical exhibits, and right-of-way or easement descriptions.
- Supervise or inspect construction and maintenance work on storm drains, roadways, sidewalks, and related infrastructure.
- Analyze and apply knowledge of stormwater infrastructure design, hydrology, and hydraulics.
- Utilize CAD and GIS platforms to support design and reporting efforts.
- Respond to public works service requests, coordinate with stakeholders, and provide updates to management and city officials.
- Collaborate closely with residents, contractors, and city representatives throughout project life cycles.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- 4–20 years of relevant experience in municipal stormwater projects, engineering design, permitting, construction, or related disciplines (pre- or post-degree).
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience required.
- Survey experience is a plus but not required.
- PE License preferred.
- Knowledge of stormwater infrastructure and retrofit/remedial design in urban or built-out areas.
- Familiarity with site civil construction management is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with AutoCAD, GIS, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Must be a resident of the Atlanta metropolitan area or willing to relocate at your own expense (relocation assistance not provided).
