Customer Service Rep, Retail Associate/ Customer Service
Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions:
- Help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
- Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need.
- Check product quality for freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
- Provide customers with ordered fresh and non-perishable grocery products.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep temperature logs.
- Gain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions or make suggestions.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products.
- Reinforce safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents.
- Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
- Work cooperatively in high-paced and stressful environments.
- Manage conflict in a professional manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
- Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Customer service skills
- Effective communication skills
- Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
