Our client is seeking an experienced, relationship-driven CPA at the Partner or Managing Partner level to join their established public accounting firm in Brookings, South Dakota. This is a rare leadership opportunity created by a planned partner retirement within the next 12–24 months
, offering a clear path to firm leadership and long-term ownership for the right individual.

This role is ideal for a CPA who enjoys client advisory work, mentoring teams, and helping guide the strategic direction of a growing firm—whether you are already a Partner or a senior CPA ready to step into a Partner‑track role.

• Prepare, review, and advise on individual and business tax returns
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic financial and tax guidance
• Manage and strengthen long‑term client relationships
• Lead, mentor, and support a tenured accounting team
• Oversee day‑to‑day operational activities of the firm
• Contribute to firm strategy, growth initiatives, and succession planning
• Collaborate closely with existing partners during the transition period

• Active CPA license
• Significant experience in public accounting
• Background in individual and business tax engagements
• Proven leadership or management experience (formal or informal)
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
• Interest in long‑term leadership and ownership within a firm
• Comfortable working in an in‑office environment with limited remote flexibility
