Minnehaha County Highway Superintendent

Jacob Maras has been appointed as the new Minnehaha County Highway Superintendent, succeeding Interim Superintendent Steve Groen. Maras brings seven years of experience within the county, including three years as Assistant Highway Superintendent, and holds a civil engineering degree from South Dakota State University.
Responsibilities- Oversee a $17.7 million construction budget that supports the design, construction, and maintenance of approximately 200 bridges and 347 miles of roadway throughout Minnehaha County.
- Secure and manage state and federal grant funding, having previously contributed to securing over $13 million in State and Federal grant funds for road and bridge works.
- Coordinate with county commissioners on budgeting decisions and fiscal reporting related to infrastructure projects.
