Job Overview

South Dakota State University is seeking a motivated and individual to join our Facilities & Services team as a Lead Facility Worker. This position plays a key role in supporting daily operations and maintaining a safe, efficient campus environment. The work shift is from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM. This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota.

• Assist in providing work direction and training to employees; delegate and assign work in the absence of the Custodial Services Supervisor I;
• Provide building services to SDSU facilities so others may learn and work in a clean and safe environment, including hard surface floor maintenance, carpet and restroom care, building security and various maintenance tasks.

• Computer software applications and systems
• Maintain levels of cleanliness and sanitation
• Lead and train staff
• Delegate and assign work
• Complete quality checks, ensuring guidelines, requirements and processes are followed
• Provide oral instructions
• Stand for extended periods of time
• Bend, stretch, climb ladders, twist, and walk
• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Preferred prior professional cleaning background

Valid Driver’s License
