Are you passionate about advancing digital accessibility? South Dakota State University (SDSU) is seeking an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Assistant Coordinator to support the university’s digital accessibility initiatives and compliance efforts. In this vital role, you will oversee the Student Digital Accessibility Liaison Program and assist with university-wide accessibility training, outreach, remediation and compliance activities. Serving as a key resource for faculty, staff, and students, you will help promote accessible digital environments and ensure adherence to accessibility standards across campus.

Key Responsibilities- Oversee the Student Digital Accessibility Liaison Program, including supervising, training, guiding and scheduling student employees, prioritizing work and ensuring efficient and effective work processes.
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining compliance with university accessibility policies, federal regulations, and state laws.
- Support the development and delivery of accessibility-related training sessions and educational resources for faculty, staff, and students.
- Contribute to outreach initiatives that raise awareness of digital accessibility across campus.
- Serve as a point of contact for accessibility questions, offering practical solutions and resources to promote accessible digital environments.
- Collaborate with campus partners to identify and address accessibility needs in digital platforms, tools, and course materials.

Knowledge of:
- Planning and coordinating ADA compliance efforts.
- Digital accessibility standards Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
- Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
- Computer software applications and systems (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Communicate effectively with strong interpersonal skills.
- Supervise student employees and manage multiple priorities.
- Educate, train, and perform outreach activities (preferred).
- Provide effective supervision in professional settings.
- 1 year of experience planning and coordinating ADA efforts.
- Background in educating, training, and performing outreach activities.
- Supervisory experience.
- Basic IT concepts, including file structures, document conversion, and troubleshooting common software issues.
