The Warehouse Operator performs a variety of routine shipping, receiving, production, and housekeeping tasks.
Essential Functions- Communicate effectively with all personnel.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions relating to the operation.
- Operate a variety of equipment such as simple hand tools and hand-powered hydraulic material handling devices.
- Stand, walk, and use hands to handle objects and controls.
- Reach above shoulders, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Navigate stairs and ladders throughout the facility.
- Routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds.
- Push/pull material handling equipment up to a 2000 pound load.
- Organize and maintain finished goods storage in the finished goods cooler.
- Organize and maintain packaging material storage in the dry warehouse.
- Organize and maintain tomes and animal feed.
- Cycle count inventory of packaging material in the dry warehouse.
- Transfer finished goods product from production and scan product into SAP.
- Pull product, shrink wrap, and load onto trailers for shipment.
- Coordinate and provide for the storage and internal distribution of packaging supplies.
- Unload, inspect, and document receipt of incoming packaging material.
- Distribute packaging materials to production departments as needed.
- Provide information and answer questions relating to packaging material storage.
- Coordinate and administer distribution of UPS shipments, inspect, record, and verify distribution of all packages.
- Maintain the warehouse quality control program coordinating activities with the quality control function by working closely with the quality department.
- Maintain the necessary reports.
- Verify partial pallet counts.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices, safety rules & procedures, food safety procedures, environmental protocols, sanitation procedures, and work instructions.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience (preferred).
- Previous forklift experience (preferred).
- Function as a team member and contribute to group goals.
- Effectively handle several problems and/or tasks at once.
- Work independently with minimum supervision in a responsible manner.
- Maintain Bel’s standards of quality by consistently delivering accurate results in a timely manner.
- Maintain the integrity of confidential business and product information.
- Take initiative to recognize areas of opportunity and resolve them with appropriate action.
Employees frequently work near moving mechanical parts in wet humid conditions, varying temperatures, and in proximity to cleaning chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles. They are occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and sources of vibration. The noise level is usually loud. Employees must wear personal protective equipment as required, which may include a work uniform, hair and beard net, safety glasses, designated shoes, and ear protection.
