Surgical Technologist - Endo Department BWH   850 Boylston Street , Brookline MA    28 hours per week  No weekends, No holidays and no call    $10,000 Sign On Bonus!
** Job Summary
** Offering three levels of the surgical technologist career ladder.
Responsible for assisting surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in various surgical procedures and playing a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the operating room.
-Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
-Set up sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment required for the surgery.  
-Transport patients to the operating room, help with positioning on the surgical table, and ensure their safety and comfort during the procedure.
-Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment to the surgical team during procedures.
-Follow proper sterilization techniques to ensure the cleanliness and sterility of surgical instruments and supplies.
-Maintain accurate and complete documentation of surgical procedures, including counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments used.
-Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team.
-Assist in preparing the surgical site by applying sterile drapes and solutions.
-Secure and manage surgical drains and catheters as directed by the surgeon.

Skills and Abilities

- Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques.  - Familiarity with surgical equipment and technology used in the operating room.  - Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  - Excellent communication and teamwork skills.  - Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations during surgeries.  - Understanding of infection control protocols and patient safety measures.
** Education and Experience requirements
** High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program ( see substitution below).Current Surgical Technologist Certification is required within one year from the date of graduation from a surgical technologist program or have been employed as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility on or before July 1st, 2013 or have successfully completed a training program for surgical technology in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard of the United States or in the United States Public Health Service (MA Senate Bill 2058, December 2012).  

Graduates who have not obtained their certification will have one year from the date of graduation from a surgical technologist program to obtain their certification.

Experience  Experience as a Surgical Technologist I or in a similar role 0-1 year required and One (1) year experience as Surgical Technologist in a similar setting 1-2 years preferred
