About Clear Flour BreadClear Flour Bakery is a small, family owned and operated bakery specializing in the authentic breads and pastries of Italy, France and Germany since 1982. Located on a neighborhood street in Brookline, it was the first bakery to introduce artisan bread baking to the Boston area. Our award-winning bread and pastry is made from scratch daily by a highly skilled staff committed to preserving the art and craft of traditional baking.

Scope & General Purpose:
The Assistant Retail Manager, is a seasoned retail employee who will support daily operations, with a focus on managing the Clear Flour Bread retail experience, including team and customer experiences and maintaining the retail space. This position works collaboratively with the Clear Flour management team to drive operations, run the retail department efficiently for the business, employees, and customers, and activate opportunities for employees to grow and learn.

Management Structure:
Reports to Retail Manager and Bakery Managers.
Core Management Responsibilities
· Contribute positivity, enthusiasm and energy for the bakery and team each day.
· Provide support to the retail team on product information, guest experience and care of the retail space.
· The Assistant Retail Manager should expect to spend the majority of their week on the retail floor, with dedicated office time denoted on the schedule.
· Help train new retail staff.
· Contribute feedback for retail staff reviews.
· Support all aspects of retail operations including assisting with correct setup and breakdown each day, cleanliness of space, equipment, furniture and care of physical plants.
Retail Operations Responsibilities
· Ensure retail resources are up to date, including updating the weekly task lists.
· Print and distribute any printed materials as needed, including storage guidelines, holiday menus, bread and pastry signs, pizza dough instructions, bread menus, and labels for bags and boxes.
· Supervise and maintain the inventory of folded boxes, paper goods, and retail items.
· Trained on essential office duties to support management; counting money and making the bread production chart.
Job Requirements
· Ability to give kind corrections to the team, in the moment on the floor.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.
· Ability to complete both daily work, initiative driven work as well as lead special projects.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
· High integrity, maturity and professionalism.
Schedule Overview
Weekly 4–5 day per week schedule, 32–40 hours.
Working one weekend day is required.
