Overview
Cost Estimation Engineer role at APPLIED Adhesives. This is an on-site position located in Brooklyn Center, MN. Only local candidates will be considered for this position.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct lead qualification calls with sales and the customer to gather system requirements.
- Analyze material properties and account for their impacts on the final system design.
- Outline fundamental system requirements ensuring they are aligned with the customer’s needs.
- Conduct component sizing calculations to guarantee system performance.
- Identify compatible system options to enhance the base solution.
- Formulate product costs in Excel including all factors required to produce and deliver the system.
- Determine system lead times evaluating supply chain constraints and manufacturing capacity.
- Prepare and present proposals to the sales team in a clear manner.
- Define spare parts associated with the system.
- Assist engineering with the project initiation to promote an efficient design process.
- Maintain knowledge of new and developing fluid dispensing technology, equipment, and applications.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be willing to travel to APPLIED facilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Are well organized, process and data driven.
- Possess solid analytical skills.
- Have the willingness to learn and are personally driven to succeed.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
- Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
- 3-5 years of relevant engineering work experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.
- Salesforce experience highly preferred.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment/engineering internship or co-op preferred.
- Well organized, process and data driven, logical thought-process, with the ability to make decisions and act on them.
- Possess solid analytical skills, requiring a strong initiative, proactive nature, and a sense of urgency.
- Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills.
