Your role will be critical to ensuring the success of Target’s business initiatives and core retail operations.

As a
** Sr Manager, Inventory Accounting**, you’ll provide strategic direction and leadership to the Import, Freight and Purchases Accounting Team, ensuring processes and controls are effective for timely and accurate financial statements. In this role, you’ll oversee the core accounting function for domestic and import receipts, domestic and import freight (and related claims), duties/tariffs (including First Sale accounting program), royalties and other timing-related inventory accruals.  

You’ll work with cross functional partners in order to translate business operations into financial statement activity. Some of these partners include:
Global Trade, Risk and Controls, Import Logistics, Product Teams, Merchandise and Supply Chain Finance, and Target Technology. You’ll also have indirect leadership with the Target in India Accounting team to ensure accurate and timely import and receipt accounting. Using your influencing skills, you’ll use insights and data to advocate for Finance in enterprise-wide initiatives and system modernizations, ensuring new solutions meet our requirements for timely and accurate financials as well as operational excellence.

*** B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
* 5-7 years of leadership experience in accounting, finance or business operations with a focus on inclusivity, career development and support
* Demonstrated accounting knowledge to translate business operations into financial statement results, including SOX controls, month end close and analytical reviews
