Program Coordinator, School of Health Sciences‑Surgical Technologist Program
Rasmussen University
Hennepin/Anoka, MN
The Program Coordinator is responsible for promoting and supporting the vision and mission of the Surgical Technologist program at the University while teaching courses in a variety of modalities. Minimum expectations for all Program Coordinators include focus on the following areas:

- Fulfillment of Professional Development & In‑Service (REU) commitment in most current AY review
- Ranked Exceeding Minimum Expectations in most recent AY review
- Serves as the key programmatic leader on campus in the defined area and provides programmatic expertise for students, staff and faculty
- ssists Academic Deans, National Coordinators, and programmatic faculty in planning, implementing and evaluating the curricula
- Actively represents the University to students, professional organizations, partners, and other relevant constituencies within the communities
- Monitors and reports programmatic metrics such as external and internal learning outcomes, enrollment and retention, and graduate placement rates
- Participates in strategic planning and implementation of programmatic activities and events, especially as related to academic matters; reviews and supports academic policies
- Assists School Dean with programmatic professional development for faculty, including programmatic new faculty orientation/onboarding
- Supports Academic Deans in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of programmatic faculty members
- Attends Teaching Development and Development in Discipline programs in addition to maintaining required professional credentials
- Attends monthly Program Coordinator team meetings hosted by the National Program Coordinator
- Schedules quarterly meetings with Academic Deans and Campus Leadership to discuss the overall health of the program and inform them of any upcoming changes
- Hosts two Advisory Board meetings each year (spring and fall). Collects, prioritizes, and communicates feedback and meeting minutes to both the Academic Dean and National Program Coordinator on curriculum and teaching practices to ensure accurate and up-to-date practices within the field
- Supports the Academic Dean and Campus Director with faculty recruiting and participate in the interview process if requested
- Participates in meetings as designated by the Campus Director, Academic Dean, and the University
- Participates in community and professional events as designated by the Academic Dean
- Establishes regular communication with Career Services, Admissions, and Student Advisors to answer programmatic questions, discuss retention and placement outcomes, and discuss potential, current, graduate students and maintain documentation of these meetings
- Prepares various reports and submit them to the National Program Coordinator and or Academic Dean
- Prepares and assists students for the applicable credentialing exam if applicable
- Reviews curriculum for areas of improvement and discuss thoughts and ideas with the National Program Coordinator
- Orders and reconciles supply orders and maintain inventory of the lab and storage areas, if applicable
- Maintains all student programmatic files and ensure proper documentation is collected
- Reviews, maintains, and enforces the immunization programmatic policy requirements
- Participates in the program evaluation process
- Supports attainment of programmatic start, retention, and placement goals
- Participates in licensing and accreditation process
- Attends University functions (Community involvement activities, graduation ceremonies, and various campus-based activities
- Builds community relationships to support programmatic outcomes
