Senior Accountant; Hybrid

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the America’s Operational Finance function. These duties include working with all business units in the Nilfisk Americas Region to ensure the timely completion of period end close, GL accounting, business unit reporting, and ad-hoc project requests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Accounting and Month End Responsibilities

• Proactively corresponds and follows up with other departments concerning requests for financial information, procedures, etc
• Reviews operating expenses and trial balance, summarizes findings and advises management
• Supports finance staff on group reporting requirements
• Completes internal reporting needs (budget vs. actual reports, scorecards, management comments, presentations for internal management meetings and others as assigned)
• Account Reconciliation completion and clean up
• Special Projects - Data clean up for SAP migration

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

B.A. degree in Finance or Accounting, required.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in accounting and financial analysis

KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

• Out-Going, Solid communication skills, Experience working with many different departments and personalities
• Ability to apply accounting and finance concepts across diverse project types
• Skill in analyzing and interpreting financial data
• Must assume responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of work product
• Comfortable with changing priorities and unstructured work assignments
• Prior experience with a multi-location/business unit organization

COMPUTER SKILLS

• Proficiency in use of MS (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
• Working knowledge of Onestream and Onestream Smartview programs
• Ability to utilize ERP system, such as BAAN
