Admissions Coordinator at Prairie Care!
Are you passionate about mental health and ready to make a difference in the lives of individuals seeking care? Join our dedicated team at Prairie Care as an Admissions Coordinator! In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and their families, guiding them through the admissions process and connecting them with the services they need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Connect & Assess: Review, assess, and link callers with information about our mental health services.
- Crisis Management: Triage crisis phone calls, assess for safety, and complete safety planning as needed. Provide county crisis resources to those in need.
- Screen &
Schedule:
Complete Mental Health Screens over the phone and schedule Admission Diagnostic Assessments and intake appointments for both program and outpatient clinic services. - Referral Coordination: Facilitate internal and external direct referrals to our services, consulting with physicians as needed to ensure smooth transitions into our programs.
- Monitor & Follow Up: Keep an eye on online channels for patient inquiries through our website and follow up with patients as appropriate.
- Customer Relations: Provide effective customer relations in line with Prairie Care policies, ensuring a supportive and compassionate experience for all callers.
- Additional Support: While not the primary function, be prepared to assist with Needs Assessments as needed.

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Bachelor's degree or two (2) years of applicable experience in the behavioral health field preferred.
Experience in triage of psychiatric emergencies is preferred.
Working knowledge of behavioral health and insurance verification process preferred.
Knowledge of DSM-5 criteria, possess interviewing and assessment skills, and display a professional attitude in all aspects of performance.
Oriented and educated in gender, cultural differences, and age-appropriate care for psychiatric and chemical dependency services.
Must possess skills to communicate clearly and effectively with clinicians.
Must have computer skills using Microsoft Office Products including Word and Outlook.
