As an EngineerYou will build, run, and automate the Backbone Network at Target, which is used by Team Members and Guests every day. Your work will include deploying new technology to the field, improving the user experience on the network, and ensuring smooth operations of the existing network. You will join a team that owns the Backbone WAN from the edge through our centralized data centers, supporting over 2,000 locations and solving challenging network problems team is transitioning from a legacy platform to a modern SD‑WAN platform, and you will help lead that transition.

Required Qualifications- 4‑year degree or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of networking experience and/or software development experience
- Knowledge of core networking elements such as IP addressing, routing, and switching
- Foundational knowledge of network concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go
- Proficiency with Linux operating systems
- Understanding of network design and architecture concepts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to resolve routine technical issues with some assistance
- Commitment to team priorities and ongoing technical knowledge development
- Continuous learning of new and evolving technologies through formal training and self‑directed education
- Familiarity with SD‑WAN technology
- Experience using automation to solve large‑scale problems

Work ArrangementThis position operates as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day arrangement, requiring work both onsite at the Target HQ, MN location assigned, and virtually depending on the day's needs. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
