Production Associate – Rust‑Oleum

Job Description

This role involves monitoring machinery, performing quality inspections, and supporting production operations in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor machinery and assist machine operators.
  • Examine products for conformance to quality standards, BOM and test results.
  • Lift raw materials, finished products and packaged items, manually or with non‑motorized equipment.
  • Stop machines when malfunctions occur, clear jams, and report unresolved malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Secure finished packaged items by gluing, stapling, wrapping, taping, or attaching fasteners.
  • Mark or tag identification on parts.
  • Load and unload materials, product or packaging from machines, containers, conveyors, and related conveyances.
  • Assist team members by performing lower‑skill duties, supplying or holding materials or tools, and cleaning work areas and equipment.
  • Perform TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) duties as required, recording pertinent information such as weight, count, time, scrap, and packaging date.
  • Stock and sort product for packaging or filling machines, and replenish packaging supplies to ensure all shift requirements are met.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers and subordinates in written or verbal form.
  • Maintain a good record of attendance and punctuality.
  • Adhere to company safety procedures, policies and Rust‑Oleum quality principles.
  • Conduct all business with integrity and treat people with dignity and respect.
Qualifications
  • English language proficiency, including grammar and composition.
  • Mechanical knowledge of machines, tools, design, use, repair and maintenance.
  • Operation monitoring skills – watching gauges, dials and indicators.
  • Quality control analysis – conducting tests and inspections.
  • Operation and control of equipment or systems.
  • Monitoring and assessing performance.
  • Critical thinking – using logic and reasoning to evaluate alternatives.
  • Troubleshooting – determining causes of operating errors and deciding appropriate actions.
  • Coordination – adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions.
  • Equipment maintenance – performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining maintenance needs.
Work Activities
  • Controlling machines and processes.
  • Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials.
  • Monitoring processes, materials or surrounding environment.
  • Performing general physical activities (e.g., climbing, lifting, balancing).
  • Handling and moving objects with hands and arms.
  • Repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment.
  • Evaluating information to determine compliance with standards.
Benefits and Compensation

Compensation: $21 / hour (second‑shift premium of $0.75)

Shift: Monday–Thursday 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM;
Friday a few hours on non‑mandatory Fridays
