3rd Shift Assistant Machine Operator
The role is located in Brooklyn Park, MN. It is a full‑time, entry‑level position that reports directly to a Production Supervisor.
Duties & Responsibilities- Support machine operation by assisting with the setup of orders according to customer specifications, following order‑readiness processes, and preparing the right tools to complete the job.
- Assist machine operators during quality checks by inspecting first‑article and reviewing articles throughout the order to identify issues and ensure product quality.
- Support the operator in monitoring production metrics to track progress of production rates, quality, maintenance needs, and downtime.
- Proactively communicate equipment issues to appropriate leaders, assist with troubleshooting and problem solving to maximize overall equipment efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Intermittently assist with minor repairs in partnership with the maintenance team.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area by following post‑order cleaning processes.
- Follow plant safety processes and procedures outlined for the machine center.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent, or 1+ years of manufacturing or comparable experience.
- Experience applying math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Experience reading, following, and completing detailed work instructions.
- Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Experience reading a tape measure to within 1/16”.
- Computer skills such as typing, printing, and data entry.
- Experience in the corrugated industry.
- Experience with operational excellence or continuous improvement programs – Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen.
The pay range is $19.93–$24.68 per hour, plus any applicable shift differential. - Work in crowded spaces for 4+ hours per shift.
- Bend and stoop for 7+ hours per shift.
- Stand for 6+ hours per shift.
- Walk for 6+ hours per shift.
- Reach and grasp up to 6+ feet.
