Caterpillar is seeking a 2nd Shift Fabrications Production  Manager in Brooklyn Park. In this role, you will guide a teamin the Fabrications and Machining departments for Caterpillar Paving Products with a focus on achieving your team’s People, Quality, Velocity and Cost (PQVC) performance goals!

• Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor; eliminate any unsafe operations and ensure a safe and clean product environment.

• Determineprocessing needs toassurefixtures,tooling and methods are provided to meet schedules and production requirements.

• Daily tie-in with production management todesignatework load, priorities andsequencefor work assigned.

• Determineovertime need,establish priorities when resources are insufficient, and evaluate when disciplinary action is necessary.

• Suggest changes in working conditions anduseof equipment to increase efficiency. Works to improve processes,timeliness and reduce costs byeliminatingnon-value-added activities.

• Ensure the quality of product produced andconformsto Caterpillars Quality Policy whilemaintainingcost.

• Implement various corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, CQMS (Caterpillar Quality Management System) / ISO certification, etc.

• Train and develop staff, perform time keeping, estimate personnel needs, assign work, meet completion dates, and ensure consistent application of organizational needs.

• Problem Solving:
  Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing,anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

• Performance Management:
  Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization’s performance management system, practices, and tools todevelopingandimprovingindividual, team, and organizational performance.

• Decision Making and Critical Thinking:
  Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

• Effective Communications:
  Understanding of effective communication concepts,toolsand techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

• Planning and Organizing:
  Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring andmaintainingwork in a systematic and highly methodical way.

• Extensive leadership experience in a Manufacturing environment

• Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills

• Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers.

The primary location for this position is Brooklyn Park, MN.
