As a technical specialist, you will design, develop, and operate high‑performance, low‑latency systems that power Target’s gift card services. This role requires deep architectural insight, rigorous code review, and the ability to solve engineering problems with minimal oversight.

• CI/CD – GIT and automated deployment pipelines
• Infrastructure – Containerized workloads on Target’s proprietary cloud orchestrator
• Languages – Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, SQL
• Frameworks/Libraries – Spring, React
• Data Storage & Streaming – Kafka, Oracle, Postgre
  
  SQL, Target Object Store (S3 compatible)

• 4‑year degree or equivalent experience
• 1+ year of software development experience
• Dedicated to delivering high‑quality, clean, testable code
• Designs, implements, and maintains scalable applications using Java (or Kotlin), applying object‑oriented principles and modern frameworks
• Develops and optimizes complex database queries and stored procedures using Oracle/T‑SQL, ensuring high performance and data integrity across distributed systems
• Understands micro‑services concepts and applies them to their domain

This position operates as a hybrid/flex arrangement. Team members must perform core duties both onsite at Target HQ MN and virtually, based on daily needs. Work must be performed within the country of the primary location unless otherwise specified.
