Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Brooklyn, New York. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing critical accounting processes and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail to contribute to the success of a reputable non-profit organization.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee month-end close procedures, ensuring all accounts are accurately reconciled.

- Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect accurate financial data.

- Prepare and post journal entries in alignment with accounting standards.

- Conduct thorough account reconciliations to verify financial accuracy.

- Manage bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.

- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting regulations and organizational policies.

- Collaborate with other departments to support financial reporting needs.

- Review financial records for errors and suggest corrective actions.

- Assist in preparing reports for audits and external reviews. Requirements - Proven experience in month-end close processes.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger management.

- Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries.

- Expertise in account reconciliation and financial accuracy.

- Familiarity with bank reconciliation procedures.

- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

- Strong communication skills for collaboration across teams.
