Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support an education organization with day-to-day payables operations in a contract-to-permanent opportunity. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling high-volume financial transactions with accuracy. The selected candidate will contribute to timely invoice processing, payment activity, and related accounting support while working closely with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

- Process incoming invoices accurately and enter payment details into the organization's accounting system.

- Review and code invoices to the appropriate accounts to support accurate financial reporting.

- Assist with company credit card reconciliation by organizing charges and matching documentation.

- Prepare and record check disbursement activity to ensure payments are properly documented.

- Support scheduled check run activities and help maintain timely vendor payments.

- Handle additional accounts payable assignments as needed to support the finance team's daily workload. Requirements - Experience working in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support function.

- Hands-on ability to process invoices with strong attention to accuracy and detail.

- Familiarity with invoice coding and general accounts payable procedures.

- Experience assisting with check runs and payment posting activities.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Nonprofit or education industry experience is helpful, but not required.

- Proficiency with standard accounting systems and basic spreadsheet tools.
