World Explorers is looking for enthusiastic After school Counselors to join our team at several Brooklyn elementary school sites for the school year. This role is perfect for individuals who are dependable, energetic, and eager to help children learn and grow in a fun, structured environment.

World Explorers is a Brooklyn-based organization that provides after school and school break programs for students in Pre‑K through 5th grade. Our mission is to create engaging, safe spaces where children can explore new skills, build confidence, and connect with their peers. We proudly partner with public and charter schools across Brooklyn.
What You’ll Do- Lead and supervise groups of elementary students in daily after school activities.
- Facilitate games, arts & crafts, STEM projects, and team‑building activities.
- Escort students safely throughout the building and support dismissal routines.
- Assist with attendance, family pick‑up, and daily program operations.
- Promote positive behavior and help maintain a structured, welcoming environment.
- Collaborate with site leaders, school staff, and peers.
- Monday–Friday, approximately 2:00–6:00 PM (hours may vary slightly by school).
- Program follows the NYC DOE calendar (September–June).
- Optional full‑day hours available during school breaks and holidays.
- Break camps include field trips, enrichment workshops, and special guest programming.
- Occasional trainings or meetings outside of regular program hours.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Experience working with groups of children (school, camp, youth programs, etc.).
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
- Reliable and committed to the full school year.
- Able to pass a background check.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to complete training).
- Interest in education, child development, or related areas.
- Familiarity with DOE schools and Brooklyn neighborhoods.
$16–$20 per hour, depending on experience.
