NH - Licensed Practical Nurse

Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse performs responsibilities that are supportive and/or restorative under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse. Provides nursing care to an assigned group of patients, and administers medications and/or treatments upon demonstration of ability in accordance with policy of the Hospital.

Provides direct patient care:

• Performs tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Registered Nurse as related to:
  Hygiene and physical comfort
• Medical treatments and selected nursing interventions
• Nutritional needs
• Ambulation and exercise
• Elimination
• Patient safety
• Administrates medication as assigned
• Performs CPR
• Takes vitals
• Transports patients
• Prepares patients for tests and procedures

Education:

• Graduate of accredited nursing program(s).

Experience:

• Demonstrates competence and experience in nursing within the limits of preparation and legal scope of practice.

Licenses,

Certifications:

• Licensed and currently registered as a Practical Nurse in NYS.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day.
• Position will be required to stoops, bends, lifts, carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
