What You Can Expect To DoAs an oncology technician, you will work alongside experienced Medical Oncologists and other compassionate veterinary professionals, playing a vital role in diagnosing and treating cancer using advanced tools such as ultrasound, biopsies, cytology, and radiology, while administering or assisting with chemotherapy and palliative treatments to help our patients live their best lives.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive chemotherapy and treatment support by safely administering chemotherapy, closely monitoring patients for adverse effects, educating clients on post‑treatment care, and overseeing oncology patients throughout their treatment. You will deliver pain management and supportive care while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Advanced Diagnostic Procedures: Assist with fine needle aspirations, biopsies, cytology, and histopathology.

Education:
Guide pet owners through treatment options, provide clear instructions on at‑home care, and offer emotional support. - Record Keeping & Treatment Plans: Maintain accurate electronic medical records and collaborate with oncologists to update treatment plans.
- Pain Management & Palliative Care: Administer pain relief and comfort care for patients in all stages of cancer.

Collaboration:
Work closely with board‑certified oncologists and other specialists to ensure coordinated care.
Our ideal candidates have a positive attitude, are motivated, compassionate, and possess strong clinical and communication skills. We’re especially interested in individuals with 1‑2 years experience in oncology or internal medicine. You should feel confident adapting to evolving patient needs, collaborating with multiple services, and building relationships with pet owners.
- Licensure –
LVT licensure is required in the state of NY
