Tension is a women-centered strength training studio in Brooklyn offering small-group classes designed to build real, sustainable strength. We Cathedral's ach. We are looking for instructors who are as passionate about progressive overload, proper form, and community as we are.

Our mission is rooted in body-neutral strength training, and we value coaches who align with and reflect that philosophy.

What You’ll Do

Coach high-energy, technique-driven strength training classes for up to 12 participants. You shy bring a supportive, body-neutral coaching style that builds confidence and empowers women to lift heavy, while providing real-time form corrections and individualized guidance. You will also maintain an inclusive, welcoming environment for women, trans, and nonbinary members, support class set up and breakdown, and participate in ongoing training and team development.

  • Studio Lead – Oversees instructor operations, including scheduling, training and team communication.
  • Community Lead – Plans and executes monthly events to strengthen member engagement and retention.
  • Social Lead – Captures and edits in-studio content for social media and marketing.

Requirements
  • Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through an accredited organization (NASM, ACE, ISSA, ACSM, NSCA, etc.).
  • Minimum 6 months of group fitness coaching experience.
  • Strong understanding of strength training principles and safe lifting mechanics.
  • Passionate about lifting and excited to help others build real strength.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, confident presence.
