The Part‑Time Staff Accountant supports daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and monthly closings. This position is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional seeking a flexible work schedule in a collaborative environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Perform day‑to‑day accounting activities including invoice entry, journal entries, and cash receipts.
- Maintain accurate and timely general ledger records and account reconciliations.
- Process vendor invoices and payments, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
- Assist in customer invoicing, cash applications, and collection tracking.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash activity.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closing processes.
- Assist with the preparation of documentation for audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
- Perform other accounting and administrative tasks assigned by the Controller, including periodic light HR or office administrative duties.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experienced in using ERP systems.
- High attention to detail with strong accuracy.
- Fast learner with self‑learning ability.
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
- Hardworking, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing or small business environment is a plus.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands.
- This is a part‑time position, approximately 20–25 hours per week.
- Flexible schedule available within standard business hours (Monday–Friday).
Pay: $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 25.0 per week
