Systems Engineer, Software Engineer
The Senior System Administrator (SCADA) will be responsible for the design, programming, and implementation of the new SCADA system(s), as well as providing day-to-day operational support for the existing system(s). This role involves utilizing and integrating the latest technologies, developments, and trends in the Gas PLC and SCADA systems industry to enhance current operations. A successful candidate must have an in-depth working knowledge of SCADA fundamentals as they apply to the utility sector.
The role requires maintaining strong working relationships with management, supervisory, IT, and operational staff in the designated area. Clear communication and coordination with the energy control center are essential to support both field and energy distribution operations.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Stay current with the latest trends in automation designs and equipment for the Gas industry
- Expertise in all aspects of SCADA systems, including:
- AVEVA Enterprise SCADA (formerly OASyS DNA) baseline platform
- HMI display development
- Realtime Database implementation
- Historical Database data interfaces and reports
- Gas Measurement Metering
- Troubleshoot SCADA software and server issues
- Collaborate with Field Technicians to configure, test, and troubleshoot data polling from the SCADA System to field RTUs
- Work with Gas Control operators to ensure the SCADA system supports safe pipeline operations
- Program wireless modems (Sierra Wireless and Digi)
- Build, configure, and maintain reports
- Document changes, obtain approvals, and submit change requests
- Knowledge of RTU/PLC protocols (Modbus, DNP3, BSAP)
