Description

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for a new challenge in a strategic capacity, driving change in the way we regulate across the four countries of the United Kingdom. The role will help the organisation to break new ground in the delivery of modern regulation, with focus on our Fitness to Practise (FtP) process.

You will work with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders in establishing new processes, policies, and governance arrangements to ensure that operational teams are well equipped to carry out their functions. You will be a key member of the leadership team responsible for delivering our core regulatory functions which include registration, revalidation, and Fitness to Practise. A key priority for the organisation is the recovery of our caseload post pandemic, and this role sits at the head of this effort.

The role holder must demonstrate the organisation’s values and behaviours, acting as a senior role model for staff and delivering cultural change that puts people at the centre of the work we do.

Key responsibilities of this role will be demonstrating leadership and management skills, taking the lead on corporate or cross-cutting programmes and projects to enable an effective fitness to practise function and implementation of our priorities.

You will ensure that the organisation’s values and behaviours are understood and demonstrated through clear, visible leadership and supported in your working practices. Encouraging colleagues, you will support innovation across operational teams and promote a culture of learning and improvement. Alongside this, you will be crucial in creating and delivering medium and long-term approaches to continuous development. This will be done through close collaboration with, and input from, colleagues from across the business.

You will be passionate about improving operational performance. You’ll need to be able to quickly understand what is working well and what we need to change and then be able to confidently lead the change that needs to happen through formal change programmes and support of more localised continuous improvement plans.
