Job Overview

We are seeking an Athletic Coach for Preschool & Elementary Schools in the Hernando County School District. The role focuses on developing young athletes, fostering a safe and encouraging environment, and teaching fundamental sports skills.

• Develop and implement age-appropriate sports programs for preschool and elementary students.
• Instruct students in basic sports techniques, teamwork, and fair play.
• Maintain a safe practice environment, ensuring all equipment is properly used and stored.
• Communicate with parents and teachers regarding student progress and program objectives.
• Participate in district training and meetings as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Florida Educator’s Certificate in any subject.
• First aid, injury prevention, CPR training.
• Willingness to devote time before and after school hours.
• Current 20-hour Sports First Aid certification offered through Human Kinetics.
• Must hold a Florida Educator’s Certificate.

Paid in accordance with the Differentiated Pay for Additional Duty/Supplemental Salary Schedule in the Hernando County Teachers’ Association (HCTA) Contract. Duty days and hours vary. Position open. Apply ASAP if you are ready to join the district.
