We are seeking competent, conscientious, service‑oriented individuals with strong character to work in one of our gastroenterology offices in Tampa Bay. The role primarily supports the clinician in exam rooms and provides scribing assistance under the direction of the division practice manager.

• Certified medical assistant
• High school graduate with at least 2 years of medical office experience using EMR/practice management systems
• Preference for candidates who have worked for customer‑service focused employers (e.g., Publix, Disney, Chick‑fil‑A)
• Criminal background check and drug screening required
• Excellent professional references

• Obtain basic patient history and reason for visit; record vitals
• Maintain inventory and equipment; keep clinical area hygienic and organized
• Assist the clinician with orders, discharge instructions, follow‑up instructions, and documentation of prescription medications as directed, within the CMA/State of Florida scope
• Enter clinical data accurately and efficiently (chief complaint, history, allergies, medications, surgeries, etc.)
• Record orders as directed and provide consistent updates to the provider
• Retrieve medical chart information, including from outside practices and labs
• Ensure compliance with EMR documentation standards
• Assist patient education
• Help with e‑prescribing and other meaningful use/PQRS requirements
• Contact patients to advise of test results, physician instructions, and necessary follow‑up visits
• Respond to patient inquiries/triage calls promptly and cordially
