We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to operate and maintain a CNC Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) with a 63-inch table, equipped with Fanuc controls and servo motors. The ideal candidate will also be proficient in operating manual lathes, milling machines, and other conventional shop equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate CNC VTL machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and programs on Fanuc-controlled machines.
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to maintain tolerance and quality.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor machine issues.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Operate manual lathes, milling machines and other small workshop machines
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to safety protocols.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T symbols, and technical drawings.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve machining issues.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating CNC VTL machines, preferably with Fanuc controls.
- Proficiency in manual machining (lathe, milling, drill press).
- Strong understanding of machining principles, cutting speeds, and feeds.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
- Basic understanding of CNC programming and offsets.
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a standing position for extended periods.
- Experience of machining in the aviation industry.
- Certification in CNC machining or related technical training.
- Gas & Electric Welding and cutting experience.
