Custodian/Bus Servicer (must have a CDL A or

B)

Services and cleans all transit system vehicles and buildings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Must have a CDL A or B to be able to move buses.

• Fuels, cleans, and checks lubricants daily on all vehicles as specified on the Daily Cleaning Checklist.
• Clean and wash buses, and all company vehicles, service all vehicles daily according to the specifications on the Bus Cleaning Checklist form.
• Cleans the service areas and the bus parking area daily.
• Attends training and staff sessions as required.
• Performs general cleaning of grounds and building.
• Assists in change out of buses or vans on-line when a mechanical failure occurs, and mechanics are not available.
• Maintains a professional image and conduct, including a proper, well-maintained uniform while on duty.
• Always maintains company rules and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to read, write and do basic math. Must be able to understand, follow and carry out written and/or verbal instructions.
• Must have a general knowledge of fuels and lubricants, vehicle and fuel safety procedures and cleaning materials.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency required. Must have a valid Driver’s License with a clean record for at least seven (7) years. Obtain Florida Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement and Airbrakes. Must pass physical examination including drug and alcohol screen, and background evaluation.

• Must be able to lift or move up to fifty pounds. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, kneel or crawl. Must be able to do repetitive tasks.
• The employee is exposed to caustic chemicals and high noise levels while in the work environment.
• Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally.
• Employee must have clarity of vision with or without corrective lenses of at all distance ranges with the ability to judge distances and space relationships between objects of where they are in relation to other objects and maintain clearances between objects as they move vehicles from one location to another.
• Physical activity includes, but is not limited to lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, stooping to clean, refuel and check lubricant levels on vehicles and accessing engine compartment areas. Ability to hear and detect engine noises, reach below the waist, waist to shoulder and above shoulder to clean vehicle areas and windows. Ability to roll tires, turn screws and bolts, using multiple hand tools.
  
  Collating, feelings, grasping, handling, holding, sorting, fingering, and writing on reports and documents.

• Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and Holidays. Must be available in times of emergency when emergency status is declared for operating county by the local Emergency Operation Center.

• Daily outdoor work includes but is not limited to exposure of, dampness, dirt, noise, temperature extremes, vehicle fumes, petroleum products, chemicals, vehicle vibrations, difficult customers, traffic, road and inclement weather conditions.

Pay Rate $18.52/HR

CDL Preferred

25-30 hours a week

Monday-Friday 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm, Saturdays 3:30 pm to 8:30 pm

Off Sunday and one other day, as schedule allows.
