Are you ready to take your expertise in HVAC and plumbing to the next level? Our client, a leader in the construction industry, is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to join their team in Broomfield, Colorado. This role is pivotal in driving the planning and coordination of commercial mechanical systems projects from inception to construction. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with clients, engineers, and internal teams while delivering cost-effective and innovative solutions in the fast-paced construction sector.
- Responsibilities:Lead client and stakeholder meetings to gather critical project requirements for preconstruction planning and budgeting.
- Develop accurate conceptual and detailed budgets based on project design documents.
- Evaluate building and mechanical system requirements to prepare precise bids and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to oversee the development of construction drawings and ensure quality and accuracy.
- Identify and resolve design challenges and ensure code compliance during preconstruction phases.
- Source vendor pricing and data to develop cost estimates for prequalification and budgets.
- Coordinate construction logistics and schedules with project teams, focusing on mechanical system integration.
- Mentor junior team members in preconstruction best practices and industry standards.
- Must-Have Skills:B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical systems within preconstruction or design contexts.
- Proficiency in sizing piping and ductwork systems, including familiarity with SMACNA standards.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, including IBC, IMC, IPC, IECC, and IFGC.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reports and client interactions.
- Nice-to-Have Skills:Experience with estimating software such as Quick Pen/Trimble.
- Working knowledge of architectural, structural, electrical, and fire protection drawings.
- Familiarity with direct digital and self-contained temperature control systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PC operations.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
