Job Description Our Team's Mission:
We align business needs to develop an enterprise-wide workspace strategy by creating environments that enable success of our people and hardware. The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution - from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management. What You'll Do:
* Evaluate system capacity & demand, identify constraints and waste, and propose effective solutions in a high mix/low volume production environment to support our Strategic Business Units.
* Perform various analyses of value streams, to ensure proper layout, efficient material flow, and monitor available capacity to enable successful program execution.
* Facilitate operational strategic planning efforts to identify business purpose and long-term goals, and support the development of a strategic roadmap for future business growth.
* Identify and resolve systemic issues impacting production throughput and efficiency, using sound problem solving techniques and risk assessments.
* Identify current value stream constraints and understand the effects of forecasted business growth on factory capacity.
* Improve forecast database management and analyze the outputs to quantify business growth.
* Engage and report to senior operational and engineering leaders, team members, and stakeholders to gain alignment on implementation plans and success metrics.
* Maintain an intense focus and continuous presence where the work is performed. Take regular Gemba walks, "go and see" to gather the facts, and develop a deep and thorough understanding of the process and facts.
* Influence others with a Lean coaching approach (respect for people, "go and see" behavior, put problems first, and continuously intensify collaboration).
* Drive accountability within the organization, and be accountable, by putting problems first with a sense of urgency.
* Lead teams through projects and mentor junior industrial engineers and project managers.
* Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
* Perform other duties as necessary. On-Site Work Environment:
This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
* Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
* May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
* May access other facilities in various weather conditions. Required Education, Experience, & Skills
