Compensation: USD $113,000 – $142,000 annually + Annual Bonus
Job Overview We are seeking a Manager, Application Development to lead design, development, and delivery of enterprise and core banking applications (Symitar and related technologies). This role oversees a team of developers, ensuring delivery of business solutions aligned with strategic objectives and the technology roadmap. The manager will balance efficiency with quality, foster a collaborative and diverse team environment, and ensure best practices in coding, compliance, and information security.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and supervise the core development team across multiple scrum teams and business lines.
- Oversee resource allocation, planning, and delivery in coordination with the Enterprise PMO.
- Establish a supportive and team-oriented culture that values diversity, teamwork, and quality.
- Provide leadership in design, development concepts, governance, and delivery of efficient software solutions.
- Implement processes for continuous improvement of application development and management.
- Define and enforce design patterns, review code, and ensure compliance with coding and security standards.
- Collaborate with external vendors for integrated solutions and stay current on vendor roadmaps.
- Ensure solutions optimize operational efficiency while aligning with strategic business needs.
- US Citizenship (no VISA sponsorship).
- 6+ years of experience with financial institution technologies:
Jack Henry (Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, Sym Xchange, ARCU), Meridian Link, Encompass, Alkami, COTS, Image Center, OpCon. - Proven experience with software development methodologies, version control, and testing practices.
- Leadership and people management skills with focus on coaching, mentoring, and motivating development teams.
- Ability to influence executive leadership and work in agile/iterative environments.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- Hands-on experience developing and supporting Symitar/Power On/Rep Gen applications.
- Knowledge of IBM AIX operating systems.
- SQL development experience, plus familiarity with HTML and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of ITIL framework and engineering process implementation.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Stable employment history with progressive growth in development leadership.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid model (onsite 50% of time).
- Personal smartphone required for multi-factor authentication.
- Flexibility for multiple interview rounds (technical + leadership).
