If you’re an experienced aviation maintenance professional with strong leadership skills, extensive turboprop expertise, and a commitment to safety and compliance, The Blackhawk Group is looking for you to lead our Maintenance Department at the Performance Center in Broomfield, CO. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the Maintenance Department within the Performance Center, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance operations for light turboprop aircraft.
This role provides leadership in workforce development, labor planning, and technical oversight, while ensuring FAA compliance and alignment with Performance Center goals. The Maintenance Manager partners closely with the Director of Operations but does not hold independent budget authority beyond labor cost management.
As our Maintenance Manager, you’ll be responsible for aligning maintenance operations with customer needs and FAA requirements, driving technician development, and ensuring our shop delivers the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities- Lead, manage, and develop maintenance personnel, including Supervisors, Leads, and Technicians.
- Oversee aircraft inspection, repair, and return-to-service activities in compliance with FAA Part 43, Part 91, and Part 145.
- Align labor resources and schedules with Performance Center needs and customer requirements.
- Support customer communication regarding maintenance findings, project updates, and issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with documentation, work orders, logbook entries, and quality control standards.
- Maintain and oversee calibration of maintenance tools, equipment, and ground support gear.
- Drive technician training, certification, and career development.
- Collaborate with leadership on shop improvements, best practices, and new capabilities.
- 7–10 years of aircraft maintenance experience in a Part 145 MRO environment.
- 3–5 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of turboprop aircraft systems and maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with FAA compliance, repair station procedures, and quality systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Aviation Maintenance or related field preferred.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.
- OEM training on turboprop platforms highly desirable.
