Skilled Aircraft Fitter - Broughton

Salary: £37,530 plus shift premiums up to 33%

Location:

Airbus Broughton, Flintshire

Hours:

37 hours per week (half-day Friday)

Build Aircraft Structures Used Worldwide

Prestwick Aerosystems is proud to continue Ayrshire's long-standing aircraft manufacturing heritage. From our Prestwick site, we manufacture major aircraft wing structures used on Airbus commercial aircraft worldwide.

We're looking for experienced tradespeople to join Prestwick Aerosystems and support Airbus operations at the Airbus Broughton site, one of the world's leading aerospace manufacturing facilities.

Whether you're currently working as a welder, fabricator, mechanic, gas fitter, pipefitter or in another relevant mechanical trade, this is an opportunity to apply your skills within a world-class aerospace environment while contributing directly to the manufacture of aircraft structures used across Airbus programmes worldwide.

How you will contribute to the team
  • Manufacture and assemble aircraft wing structure components using approved engineering instructions and technical data.
  • Carry out sealing, coating and finishing activities to aerospace manufacturing standards.
  • Safely operate tools, equipment and production systems while meeting demanding quality requirements.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of quality, safety and compliance within a regulated aerospace environment.
You will have:
  • A completed apprenticeship in a mechanical, fabrication, welding, vehicle maintenance, pipe fitting, gas fitting or comparable manufacturing trade.
  • Trade papers, apprenticeship papers or equivalent qualification certificates that can be provided during the recruitment process.
  • Experience working from technical drawings, engineering instructions or manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience carrying out fitting, fabrication, welding, mechanical assembly or similar skilled trade activities.
